United Methodist Communicators began their annual meeting by taking time to connect to the community. They started the afternoon by giving back to their host city of Albuquerque, New Mexico through service; and then learned about the history of the indigenous Pueblo Indians and their historical relationship to Christianity, brought by Spanish conquistadors. The 2011 annual meeting of the United Methodist Association of Communicators (UMAC) will take place Oct. 18-21 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our keynote speaker will be the Rev. Lorenza Andrade-Smith, a United Methodist pastor who was arrested in November 2010 for demonstrating for immigrant rights. Getting to the meeting in San Francisco

  BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) runs trains from San Francisco International Airport to the Civic Center station, just a block northeast of the Hotel Whitcomb. The cost is $7 and you need exact change.   The BART station at SFO is located in the International Terminal. New Conference Begins Search for Key Employees

The new 180,000 member annual conference, Upper New York area, of the United Methodist Church is looking for a Director of Communiations. Applications and supporting material must be received by November 1, 2009. Candidates being considered will be interviewed in January 2010.
