Andrade-Smith Is Keynote Speaker at UMAC 2011
9/15/2011
The 2011 annual meeting of the United Methodist Association of Communicators (UMAC) will take place Oct. 18-21 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Our keynote speaker will be the Rev. Lorenza Andrade-Smith, a United Methodist pastor who was arrested in November 2010 for demonstrating for immigrant rights. While in jail, she organized a 365-day spiritual fast on behalf of DREAM Act students. (See 365 Day Fast in Solidarity with DREAMers, on Facebook.)
Her new appointment is to the poor and marginalized on the streets of El Paso. Read more in a recent UMNS story, "Could I Give Away My Possessions?".
Rev. Andrade-Smith's keynote address promises to be exceptional and inspirational. Don't miss it! Register for the annual meeting today. Sign up here, or on the 2011 Annual Meeting page.
