Budgeting for 2027? Preliminary information on the UMAC Annual Meeting

As communicators look ahead to their 2027 budgets, now is a great time to plan for professional development opportunities—including the United Methodist Association of Communicators (UMAC) Gathering, taking place February 25–26, 2027, at Bethany United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas.

Whether you serve on staff at a local church, general agency, or annual conference; work for a United Methodist related institution, a college or university; serve a United Methodist ministry or volunteer your time on a conference commission,​ UMAC offers practical training, networking, and inspiration for United Methodist communicators from across the connection.

Preliminary Budget Information

While registration has not officially opened, the planning team can share a few details to help your budget for the event.

Registration: The registration fee for the 2023 and 2025 UMAC gatherings was $375, which included three meals. The planning team is actively working to reduce the registration cost for the 2027 gathering, though final pricing is still being determined.

Hotel: A discounted hotel room block has already been secured, with rates are approximately $100 per night. (Book now at www.umcommunicators.org/annual-meeting.)

Transportation:

Plan to fly into AUS, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Bethany UMC and our host hotels are just over 20 miles north of the airport. Rental cars, car pools, and ride share are good options from the airport to the hotel and church.

Meals: We expect lunch during the two-day UMAC session, plus one dinner, to be included in your registration fee.

Awards Entries:

UMAC award contest will cost approximatly $50 per entry.
